In our imaginary secret garden a large wood can be found stretching the length of the southern border. Untouched by time, it is home to one of the largest and most beautiful of bluebell carpets in spring. Known as the Sapphire Forest, it exist only in legend, for no man has dared step inside this wilderness to disturb the sanctuary of flowers that grows inside.
These charming drop earrings are inspired by the magical myth of the Sapphire Forest and the infamous bluebell that resides inside. Hand-crafted in 9ct yellow gold and verdigris brass, each flower is set with a white agate bead, which can be glimpsed secretively as the bluebell ‘bud’ moves and spins on the ear.
The Bluebell Earrings hail from our Once Upon a Time in My Secret Garden jewellery collection. Inspired by the landscaped gardens of William Kent and Capability Brown, the exotic menagerie’s of George Stubbs and Jacques-Laurent Agasse, and the writings of William Shakespeare, Phillip Pullman, Lewis Carrol and Frances Hodgson Burnett (amongst others), this collection aims to bring to life the weird and wonderful flowers and creatures that would reside in Tessa’s imagined garden.
