Designer's Notes +

The Mint Julep cocktail has been synonymous with Southern USA hospitality since its first invention in the 18th Century. Comprising of bourbon, sugar, water, ice and mint, it is commonly agreed to belong to a family of cocktails called ‘the smashes’, from which the much-loved Mojito hails from. Traditionally always served in silver or pewter glasses, this drink was once prescribed as medicine and continues to be drunk with great ferocity at the Kentucky Derby, where almost 120,000 Juleps are served each year.
