Temple Earrings in Red
Tessa’s bold and sculptural Mexicana collection draws inspiration from the ancient architecture of Mexico, namely its monumental Mayan temples, constructed in perfect geometry from stone blocks. Tessa’s Temple Earrings are a contemporary interpretation of these iconic buildings and are here set with striking red cubic zirconia stones. These earrings have featured in Vogue online and Country Life Magazine.
Cubic zirconia is the crystalline form of zirconium dioxide. It was first used commercially in 1976 and has since then become a popular alternative to coloured gemstones (and diamonds) in the jewellery industry. Different shades of cubic zirconia are created by different elements. The red-pink colour found in these earrings is due to the presence of europium, cerium and erbium in the crystal.
