Home Grown Succulents

The first creative workshop of the Enchanted Garden series was a masterclass into polymer clay and its impressive ability to create realistic looking plants and flowers.

Gathering at the Tessa Packard London showroom, ten guests learnt how to manipulate and model polymer clay to create a small succulent. Using visual guides (and with the help of Tatiana the instructor) the first step was to make up a variety of succulent petals in different sizes using pre-prepared moulds as a guide. Once the petals were ready, assembly began using glue and much patience. Once the flower head was complete, a ceramic pot was chosen to place the succulent in. Finishing touches saw guests carefully use minimal amounts of brown acrylic paint to give their succulents tonal realism at the petal ends.

A big thank you to Tatiana for her patience and expert advice throughout the masterclass.
