The 1950s were an era of intense plastic production. Mid-century America in particular saw a boom in plastic usage in all settings, from household wares to outdoor living, fashion and also the world of jewellery. Its novelty and newness did not, however, stand the test of time and nowadays plastic is considered more problematic than cool. Our aim here with this ring (and all the others in our Plastic Fantastic collection) is to show that vintage plastic can still be cool when it is beautifully refunctioned into elegant, timeless fine jewellery.
