Somewhere in the Enchanted Garden
Somewhere in the Enchanted Garden is a collaborative, 10-day programme of creative events, workshops and talks celebrating the beauty and importance of nature, as imagined by Tessa and her friend, Lyndsey Ingram.
Taking place over the period of the London Chelsea Flower Show and Chelsea Fringe, events include a private, behind-the scenes tour of the British Museum’s most celebrated botanical and garden works on paper; do-it-yourself print-making in Lyndsey’s Mayfair gallery; a nature-themed pub quiz, complete with botanically inspired cocktails as quiz questions; a bird box decoupage masterclass; and a very special ‘night at the zoo’ at Tessa’s showroom.
As well as these various satellite events, members of the public will be able to visit the Allotment Garden at Lyndsey’s gallery. Painted by Tessa and assembled by all, the Allotment Garden is a spectacular wall mural decorated with hundreds of cut-out animals and fake flowers. Guests to the garden will be able to purchase a ‘seed packet’ for £5 and add their own animal or flower to the mural.
The Allotment Garden will be dismantled after the 10-day programme and will be re-installed in the play room at the Honeypot House in Hampshire, a children’s charitable home that provides respite breaks and on-going outreach support to young carers and vulnerable children. All funds raised from the ‘seed packet’ sales will go directly to the Honeypot Children’s Charity.
During the 10-day programme, both Tessa and Lyndsey’s spaces will exhibit work from Tessa’s new Once Upon a Time in My Secret Garden collection, as well as garden-themed prints by a variety of artists from the Lyndsey Ingram gallery.
