Emperor’s New Clothes

Drawing its name from Hans Christian Anderson’s eponymous fairytale, Emperor’s New Clothes is a collection that explores the idea of illusion and irony through the use of colourful enamelling and over-grown gemstone forms to give pieces the appearance of real deal, high carat weight, record-breaking stones.

Tessa comments: “As a jeweller who has always preferred to concentrate on unique design rather than carat weight, the Emperor’s New Clothes collection was in my mind a particularly apt representation of my on-going desire to subvert the visual norm through humour and juxtaposition, thereby creating a world where record-breaking sized stones are affordable to all,”.
